Public Domain Books

“And all the time we have books, books teeming with ideas fresh from the minds of thinkers upon every subject to which we can wish to introduce children.”
― Charlotte Mason

Public Domain books are such an amazing resource that is available to us in this wonderful age of electronics we find ourselves. If I didn't take advantage of this source it would be a tragedy. I've been happily surrounding myself with physical copies for years, but just recently learned about all the amazing ones that are rarer and possibly completely unavailable to us in print.

I first discovered this resource of downloadable books by happening upon an amazing group on Facebook named Public Domain Books for Homeschooling where a wonderful and generous woman posts all sorts of treasures in order of subject, making it quite easy for us to find something useful. I'd definitely recommend joining that group if you're able, as I don't think we can ever have too many resources.

Did you know you can upload public domain books onto your tablet to be read? I first discovered how to do this and think the process is quick, rather easy, & quite helpful. I was able to upload several books onto our Amazon Kindle Fires & our Nook. You can also upload them with the use of the Kindle app on any tablet. If you're interested in learning how I will most likely be adding a page with various tutorials to help, check back for that later...
